This truck is one of 5,118 produced in the final 1979 Model year. When first introduced in 1978 the Dodge engineers took advantage of loopholes in emission regulations and launched the Lil Red Express which was not only the fastest 0-100 mph American built vehicle but also what is known as the grandfather of the SRT 10 trucks and high performance trucks from other manufacturers since. With its factory modified police code E58 engine block using a different camshaft along with other performance upgrades this engine produces 225 Horsepower. The modified A-727 Loadflight automatic transmission operates perfectly. No description of this truck would be complete without mention of the factory original and fully operational twin exhaust stacks that exit above and behind the cab. The paint is in excellent condition and there is no rust in the cab doors, corners or anywhere else. The red interior is in excellent condition with no signs of wear or aging. All of the factory decals, oak side panels and pine bed floor are in beautiful condition too. This vehicle is only available for out of state purchasers.
