The Jaguar XK 120 is considered the most important Milestone from either side of the Atlantic. This year Automobile Magazine named it one of the 10 greatest sports car of all time. This is one of the original 7,631 XK 120 roadsters built between 1948 and 1954.------ There were 5 problems with the XK 120. Its handling was very heavy because its heavy engine sits on the front axle, its drum brakes were marginal, the electrical system gave a lot of problems, its 12 quart engine drank and threw out a lot of oil and it was not the easiest engine to keep in tune.------ With a '61 Corvette 283 V8 weighing 200 pounds LESS than the jaguar 6 and being 12 inches shorter, it does not sit on the front axle, thus making the steering much lighter, the Corvette engine is much more reliable than the Jaguar, and it keeps its 5 quarts of oil in the engine and not on your garage floor. It has a 350 turbo automatic trans. The front brakes are XKE discs so the car stops much better. The car has been completely re-wired with a new wiring harness. It has 15 inch chrome wire knock off wheels and radial tires.------- The body was sanded down to bare metal and skim coated about 4 years ago. The speedometer and tach have been changed to work with Corvette Engine. The car runs and drives without issue and due to the engine being lighter, the steering and handling are crisp and sharp. Do not confuse this vehicle with an inferior quality replica, this is an actual 1953 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster.
